Here is our external policy. Since we failed on the war on drugs it seems like we've decided to move on and declare war on islam in the Middle East. Iraq and our thirst for oil is not our prettiest hour. All in the name of "democracy".
We could have stopped in Afghanistan but no, we'd never "democratize" that tribal hellhole. Hey, let's move on to Iraq. And they have oil!
Now we have over a billion seething desperately poor muslims hating our guts. Their governments are fanning their fires which only deflects attention from their greed and incompetence. Good luck fighting this war! The only way we'll win is if oil is $40/barrel and not $140.
Since we have so many troops in Iraq now, next stop: Iran. |

Liberals and debate are like water and oil.
Did I mention oil?
The liberal point of view is basically everything is okay, and no one is to blame for the problems, and we can't help ourselves unless government helps us first.
Problem: Oil drilling
Liberals don't want us to drill so the wildlife doesn't suffer. When did wildlife ever pay the taxes the liberals keep putting on us?
What about the wildlife in the countries we import oil from?
We have BILLIONS of barrels of oil in our own sphere of resources, yet we are not allowed to get them? If the libs want us all to drive electric cars that's fine. But how about building nuclear power plants, or putting in wind turbines off the coast of Martha's Vineyard? Opps, might spoil a Kennedy's view.
Their debate is YOU need to change, but not us in the ruling elite.
Once THAT comes to an end, an honest, open debate with common sense may start to take place.

There will always be some "ruling Elite" aka the"Establishment" and to think it will not continue to at least have a certain extra influence is Foolish. Some will always adapt to almost any new circumstances.
****** The closest thing to a Real People's takeover was Briefly in 1996 as Pat Buchanan did well in some early primary's. Money from Steve Forbes however broke his stride.
***** Now we have a POTUS more intent on keeping down/reducing the Middle Class than anything else. He see's changing demographics as the Key to success in this area , and he may be correct.
***** More importantly out of sheer Cultural focus and cowardice much of the 4th Estate has gone "Beyond the Pale" in it's bias. Almost any objectivity is now gone as they quietly see themselves as an extension of one side in this Great National divide. |

Where are the Liberals????
We wonder the same thing as there is a lack of liberals defending the current administration and their policies. As can be seen here. |

Hi, Admin:
I write for a conservative political commentary web site, www.TheDCPost.com/ Editorials and articles. I came up with an idea that I'd like to bounce off you.
I, personally, get tired of preaching to the choir. I also am at a point in my life where I believe that the other guy may have a good position on something, maybe better than mine. Maybe. I'm proposing that you and we set aside a small place on our respective web sites for an ongoing debate between a true believer on each side, liberal and conservative. Call it "A Debate With the Dark Side," or something like that. We'll have one of our writers debate someone from your liberal side. Could be one of your Admin people or you could invite your visitors/members to become one of the debaters/writers.
Debate on any subject, but probably keyed to daily/weekly news. Civil, fact based, no screaming, no opinions. There would be great value in doing this. Once it has a good track record, it might be spun off into a separate (or extra) web site, dedicated to continuing the discussion. It won't be a blog. Can't be. What it will be is an intelligent discussion between two people with different ideas and thoughts on what's going on politically in our country.
Your thoughts?
Regards,
Allan Sanford
